Yeah!!!! He appears inside the Unreal world!!!
It’s been very productive day. While watching tutorials about 8-ways locomotion game mechanics, I spotted a tutorial about a new technique in UE 5.4 – Motion Matching. As I am building the game in this version of the Engine, I decided to give it a go. Combining animations from different sources – Lyra, ALS 4.0, I have made him walk, jog, crouch and jump.
There is still a long way to achieve the level of ALS 4.0, but step by step I might eventually make it.
The walking animation looks a bit weird, possibly because the rig is not 100% matching the arm width of the character.
Also, the bag. I might do the rigging in Unreal.
